Summary:
Under the supervision of the Program Director, the Case Manager's responsibilities will include the oversight of individuals residing within a men's shelter program with the ultimate goal of aiding the consumers in achieving increased stability and self-sufficiency using a strengths-based, Housing First approach.
Functions include assisting with housing consumers' individual goal planning, and connecting residents to community resources, rental payment monitoring, community building, and problem solving.
Essential Functions:
Conducts regular assessments of consumer progress Works with staff and consumers to problem-solve issues around program rules and policies Maintain effective working relationships with other agencies participating with the Prince George's County continuum of care Maintain current records with the Homeless Management information System (HMIS) database and paper case files, documenting interactions with program participants Captures daily and monthly statistics and other required reports, as directed Participates in agency and counting meetings and trainings Other duties as required Educational/Professional Requirements:
Undergraduate/graduate degree in Liberal Arts or Social Science Field, preferred.
Experience working with community based organizations serving at risk populations.
Knowledge of community resources available to individuals and families Strong organizational skills Skilled in supervising staff.
Ability to motivate individuals to set and achieve goals.
Good interpersonal skills.
Working knowledge of the strengths-based, client-centered approach Demonstrated culture competence Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills Excellent listening and problem-solving Strong oral and written communication skills Ability to be flexible, adapt and adjust to rapid change within a growth orientated environment Other Requirements:
Prior social service experience Reliability is a priority Great sense of humor is vital Criminal background check prior to employment (state and Federal) CPR/First Aid Certified, or ability to receive certifications prior to employment TB Clearance must be obtained prior to start date Clear drug test prior to start date and ongoing thereafter Job Type:

$40,000.
