We are seeking an
Office Manager
for our property in
Capitol Heights, MD
. As Office Manager, you will lead the day-to-day operations of the community administration office by attracting and serving residents while helping to ensure the financial goals are met. You work as a team with your administrative staff to ensure the community meets the quality standards set by ELS. You will also support the Property Manager in providing wonderful customer experiences for our residents and guests.

What will your job look like?

  • You act as the resort liaison by enthusiastically providing guests and residents with information and answering questions, both in-person and over the phone.
  • You will maintain community files, including resident files, financials, MEF's, operating reports, income statements, etc.
  • You help with monthly collection and processing of rent checks; this includes collections, deposits and entering data into our systems.
  • You assist with processing paperwork for residents upon move-in and move-out, including faxing resident applications for background checks and data entry of move in/out data.
  • You oversee annual property inventory.
  • You work closely with management in developing an integral team that effectively represents the quality and professionalism of ELS communities.
  • You partner with the Community Manager to address resident inquiries in a timely and professional manner, demonstrating the ability to solve problems and address conflict in a positive manner by exhibiting patience and concern.
  • Because you're good using systems, you build and edit spreadsheets and correspondence as directed.
  • We do a lot of training and development, and you will attend and participate in training programs and seminars.
  • You will assist the Community Manager with special projects and perform other duties as assigned.

These are the skills we are looking for:

  • You have a high school diploma, or equivalent, plus 1-3 years of office and management experience. A college degree is a plus.
  • Your written and verbal communication skills are on-point and you are organized and detail oriented.
  • You type at least 40 wpm and are proficient using Word and Excel and are nimble using computer systems.
  • If you have experience with automated accounting systems, this is a plus.
  • You are skilled in administrative duties, especially coordinating and scheduling.
  • You can stay organized, prioritize multiple tasks, and have a strong attention to detail.
  • You take pride in your work and supporting your teammates is important to you.
  • You possess a valid driver s license and good driving record along with auto insurance.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
